4. Select “RAID1 (Mirror)” for the RAID Level, then press “Enter” twice so that “Create
Volume” is highlighted.
5. Press “Enter” when the “Create Volume” item is highlighted. The following message will
appear.
6. Press “Y” to create the RAID volume and return to the main menu.
7. Press “4” to exit the utility.
Asus NCLV-D2/SATA motherboard LSI RAID controller
The following steps outline how to create/define a RAID1 array using the onboard LSI RAID
controller that’s integrated into the Asus NCLV-D2/SATA motherboard. The Asus NCLV-
D2/SATA motherboard will typically be found in docSTAR SPX and Enterprise systems.
Part A: Configure motherboard BIOS
The following configuration changes need to be made in the motherboard BIOS prior to entering
LSI Logic Embedded SATA RAID Setup Utility:
1. Press the “Delete” key during POST to enter the BIOS setup.
2. Go to the Main Menu, select IDE Configuration, then press “Enter”.
3. Set the Onboard IDE Operate Mode to “Enhanced Mode”.
4. Set the Enhanced Mode Support On item to “S-ATA”, then set the Configure S-ATA as RAID
item to “Yes”.
5. Save your changes and exit the BIOS setup. Then proceed to Part B.
Part B: Create array on the LSI Logic Embedded SATA RAID controller
The following configuration changes need to be made in the LSI Logic Embedded SATA RAID
Setup Utility:
